SOXX

The iShares Semiconductor ETF (SOXX) provides exposure to companies that design, manufacture or distribute semiconductor chips, primarily U.S.-listed firms with a modest portion of holdings in international producers such as Taiwan Semiconductor. It follows a passive, index‑based strategy by tracking the PHLX (formerly ICE) Semiconductor Sector Index, investing at least 80 % of assets in the index constituents and allowing up to 20 % in cash, futures, options or swaps to manage liquidity and tracking error. The fund holds equity securities, mainly common shares, and is non‑diversified with a concentration in the electronic technology sector. SOXX is suitable for investors who want focused exposure to the semiconductor industry’s growth potential and are comfortable with the sector’s cyclicality and higher volatility relative to broad‑market funds.
