- Email and push notifications are not limited. SMS notifications are limited to 200 text messages per month. Notifications are always visible on the notifications page.
- Most alerts are checked at the end of each trading day using official closing prices. You can enable intraday checking for price alerts on stocks and ETFs to get notified throughout the trading day (using 15-minute delayed market data). Cryptocurrency price alerts are checked continuously (using 5-minute delayed data). Learn more about alert types.
- You can track 15,000+ US-listed stocks and ETFs, plus cryptocurrencies on Pro. Free users are limited to stocks only, and Premium users to stocks and ETFs.
- Pro subscribers can use the Advanced Watchlist for portfolio-style record keeping, including holding details such as shares and purchase prices, labels, custom columns, and the Insights panel for historical sector allocation, performance, risk, dividends, earnings, and holdings information.
- Not a traditional one. Instead of building queries from dozens of filters, Premium and Pro users can browse the Stocks page, which lists the stocks in the S&P 500, and the ETFs page, which groups ETFs into categories such as Broad market, Bond, and Dividend. Both pages can be searched, filtered, and sorted, and each row shows a 1–100 score based on historical data. See how scoring works.
Each stock and ETF on the Stocks and ETFs pages has a score from 1 to 100. Scores are recalculated each night after a trading day, using historical data only.
How a score is calculated
- Each metric is converted to a percentile, from 1 to 100, against comparable peers.
- The metric percentiles in a factor are averaged into a factor percentile.
- The factor percentiles are combined using the weights below, scaled so that the factors that apply total 100%.
- The combined value is converted to a final percentile from 1 to 100.
A factor without enough data is dropped, and the remaining weights are scaled up to total 100%. A security needs at least three factors to receive a score. Hover over or tap a score on the Stocks or ETFs page to see each factor's percentile as a bar.
Stocks
Stock metrics are compared with stocks in the same GICS sector, except momentum, which is compared across all scored stocks. The final percentile is ranked across all scored stocks.

ETF metrics and the final percentile are compared with ETFs in the same category, such as Broad market, Bond, or Dividend.

What a score is not
A score summarizes historical data relative to peers. It is informational only and is not a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security. TickStock does not provide investment advice. Consult a registered investment advisor (RIA) for advice about your situation.
- Pro subscribers get AI-powered analysis that provides comprehensive asset overviews, risk and volatility analysis, and educational summaries based on recent price data, news sentiment, corporate actions, and broader market trends. AI analysis is informational only and is not investment advice.
- Absolutely! You can upgrade or downgrade your subscription at any time from the Account page. Upgrades take effect immediately.
TickStock is a Progressive Web App (PWA), so you can install it directly from your browser without an app store. Pick your device for step-by-step instructions.
iPhone or iPad (iOS / iPadOS)
- Open Safari and go to tickstock.app.
- Tap the Share button in the Safari toolbar.
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Confirm the name and tap Add.
Installing from Safari is required on iOS. Other browsers do not support adding TickStock to the Home Screen.
Android
- Open Chrome and go to tickstock.app.
- Tap the menu (three dots) in the top right.
- Tap Install app or Add to Home screen.
- Tap Install to confirm.
You may also see an install prompt appear automatically at the bottom of the screen.
Safari
- Open Safari and go to tickstock.app.
- From the menu bar, choose File → Add to Dock.
- Confirm the name and click Add.
Chrome
- Open Chrome and go to tickstock.app.
- Click the install icon on the right side of the address bar.
- Click Install to confirm.
If you do not see the install icon, open the Chrome menu (three dots) and choose Cast, save, and share → Install TickStock. In Edge, the same install icon appears in the address bar.
Windows
- Open Edge or Chrome and go to tickstock.app.
- Click the install icon on the right side of the address bar.
- Click Install to confirm.
If you do not see the install icon, open the browser menu and choose Apps → Install TickStock.
Push notifications deliver your alerts straight to your device — even when your browser is closed — using your operating system's notification center.
Setting it up
- On the device you want to receive notifications on, open the TickStock Preferences page and scroll to the Push section.
- Tap Register this device and choose Allow when your browser prompts for permission.
- Tap Send test notification next to the device to confirm it is set up correctly.
- Repeat on each additional device you want to receive notifications on.
Good to know
- Push is registered per device. Registering your phone doesn't register your laptop, and vice versa.
- You choose which alerts use push when creating or editing an alert.
- You can turn push off at any time from the Preferences page, or revoke permission in your browser or operating system settings.
iPhone and iPad
On iOS and iPadOS, push notifications are only available after you install TickStock to your Home Screen using Safari. See How do I install the TickStock app on my device? for step-by-step instructions, then return to Preferences to register this device.
- All data is encrypted at rest. You may also enable two-factor authentication (2FA) using an authentictor app for the highest level of security.
